born in frankfurt/main in 1981. 2009 i have gained a masters degree in english literature and culture and visual arts and art education at goethe university frankfurt. 2011 i have finished my teacher training in art and english for secondary schools. since 2004 i am working as a freelancer in art- and media education, since 2009 i am teaching at the university of applied sciences frankfurt/main.

in the past years i have been active in the organisation of cultural events & art exhibitions in the rhein-main region. I am a member of pro-these & spez.lab, groups of independent artists that offer a platform in order to work together and present artistic output.

transformation and change play a major role in the presentation of art. variations of the source material as well as the relation to the place where the exhibition is shown can change the recipients perception and offer them new perspectives. just like music, in a concert, art should be recreated and reperceived to open new horizons.

this conviction is central to my sculptural works. i try to go beyond the (picture) frame, to diminish the distance between recipient and work of art. many of my installations only work through the participation of the audience – the recipient becomes an active part in the production of the work of art.

the artistic works and projects react to topics of political and social relevance. they extend beyond the spaces of galleries and museums and reach into the public space. i see the artist as a societal actor who uses his means to link in with political and social developments. artists can play out art's advantages over political activism. artistic works do not have to be prescriptive and offer solutions, they can be accessed in various ways and initiate thoughts and discussions.
